If you've been injured at work, the impact extends well beyond the injury. Work-related injury affects identity, relationships, confidence, and mental health. Counselling under a WorkSafe claim gives you professional counselling support at no cost.
WorkSafe Counselling
A workplace injury doesn't just affect your body — it can shake your sense of self, your confidence, your relationships, and your capacity to engage with life the way you used to. Whether the injury is physical or psychological, the emotional toll is real and deserves attention.
As a registered WorkSafe Victoria counselling provider, I offer professional psychological support to injured workers and eligible family members under an approved (or pending) WorkSafe claim. There is no out-of-pocket cost — I bill WorkSafe directly.
What I Can Help With
- Workplace injury and adjustment — coping with the emotional and practical impact of being injured at work
- Psychological injury — work-related trauma, bullying, harassment, and psychological harm
- Return-to-work challenges — anxiety, loss of confidence, and the complex emotions of returning after injury
- Anxiety and depression following workplace trauma — persistent worry, low mood, hypervigilance, difficulty functioning
- Grief and loss — loss of capacity, identity, career trajectory, or sense of normality
- Impact on relationships and family — strain on partnerships, parenting, and family dynamics following a workplace injury
How It Works
Accessing counselling through WorkSafe is straightforward:
- Eligibility — You need an approved or pending WorkSafe claim. If your claim is still being processed, get in touch and we can discuss next steps.
- No cost to you — I bill WorkSafe directly. There is no gap fee and no out-of-pocket expense for approved claims.
- Sessions — Each session is 50–60 minutes, in person at Keilor, Melbourne or via telehealth across Victoria.
- Number of sessions — This is determined by your claim and treating practitioner. WorkSafe typically approves sessions in blocks, and we review progress together.
For Employers and Referrers
I accept direct referrals from employers, return-to-work coordinators, and insurance agents. If you're referring someone, just include the claim number and any relevant documentation — I'll get back to you within a business day.

Frequently Asked Questions
-
Do I need a GP referral?
No. Unlike Medicare-rebated services, WorkSafe counselling does not require a GP referral or Mental Health Care Plan. You do need an approved (or pending) WorkSafe claim. If you're unsure about your eligibility, get in touch and I can help clarify.
-
Is there any cost?
No. For approved WorkSafe claims, I bill WorkSafe directly. There is no gap fee and no out-of-pocket expense to you.
-
Can I do sessions online?
Yes. Telehealth sessions are available across Victoria and are just as effective as in-person sessions for most presentations. All you need is a private space and a reliable internet connection.
-
How many sessions can I have?
The number of sessions is determined by your WorkSafe claim and your treating practitioner. Sessions are typically approved in blocks, and we review progress together before requesting additional sessions.
-
What if my claim hasn't been approved yet?
If your claim is pending, contact me anyway. I can discuss your situation and advise on next steps. In some cases, we can begin once claim approval is imminent or explore other options while your claim is being processed.
