Mental Health First Aid Training — Keilor and Melbourne
One in five Australians experiences a mental health challenge each year. Most of them are at work when it happens — and most of their colleagues don't know what to do.
Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) changes that.
What Is Mental Health First Aid?
MHFA is an internationally recognised, evidence-based training program developed by Mental Health First Aid Australia. It teaches people how to recognise the signs of common mental health problems, respond effectively in a crisis, and have supportive, non-judgmental conversations with someone who's struggling.
It's the mental health equivalent of CPR — practical, skill-based, and potentially life-changing.
Who It's For
MHFA training is valuable for any workplace or community group, and particularly relevant for:
◆ HR managers and people leaders
◆ Team leaders and frontline supervisors
◆ Health and community sector workers
◆ Schools, faith communities, and volunteer organisations
◆ Any organisation committed to genuine wellbeing — not just policy compliance
What Participants Learn
The standard MHFA course covers:
◆ How to recognise depression, anxiety, psychosis, and substance use problems
◆ A proven five-step action plan for mental health crisis response
◆ How to approach and support someone in distress
◆ Where to direct people for professional help
◆ How to reduce stigma and build a mentally healthy culture
Why Book with Me
I'm a licensed Mental Health First Aid Instructor with over 18 years of clinical experience as a Registered Clinical Counsellor and PACFA Certified Supervisor. I bring genuine clinical depth to the training — not just the standard curriculum.
That means participants get real answers to real questions, practical context from someone who works in mental health every day, and training that actually sticks.
I deliver MHFA training in person across Melbourne and Australia, for groups of up to 20.
Courses Available
Standard MHFA — 12 hours (face to face or blended)
